Please tell the nurse or doctor if you have been infected with MRSA or other bacteria that do not respond to standard antibiotics (MDRO). You may be infected:

  • if someone you live with is (or may be) infected with MRSA
  • if you were a patient in a care facility in a foreign country (a hospital, private clinic, rehabilitation center or nursing home) during the past two months
  • if you were a patient in a care facility in the Netherlands during an outbreak of MRSA or MDRO (in a hospital, private clinic, rehabilitation center or nursing home) during the past two months
  • if you have contact with live pigs, chickens or cows raised for their meat because of where you live or work
  • if you lived in an asylum seekers center during the past two months
  • if you took care of someone with MRSA without taking protective measures during the past two months
